While living on the outskirts of Ottawa, Simon

and potter Glenn Dunningwas a member of the artsy-fartsy art group. They had an annual art show which Simon participated in from 1992 to about 2002. At one of those shows, he won the people's choice award for a painting called "Autumn in the country".
He was the featured artist for the Pelham fine art festival in 2007 and continued to participate in that show for 2008, 2009 and 2010.
Simon participated in the Toronto art expo in 2008.
He participated in the annual juried Rideau valley fine art show in Westport from about 1992 to 2010.
He participated in ArTour Prescott-Russell in 2008, 2009, 2010, showing with his talented potter friend Glenn Dunning of Embrun pottery.
In 2010 he was commissioned by the town of Russell to do a large painting which hangs in their new Library.

In 2011 Simon participated in The Old Ottawa South Art and Music Festival and plans on showing there again.
He participated in Images sur Toile in 2011 at la Maison du Citoyen, Gatineau.
He participated in The Ottawa Art Expo in 2011 and plans on participating again.
Other shows that Simon participates in on an annual basis are

- Art in Strathcona Park.
For several years, Simon participated in
- The Kidney Foundation Art Show,
- The Glebe fine art show,
- The Clothes Line Art Show and
- Coloris sur la Baie in Rockland, Ontario.
His paintings hang in private collections all over Canada, the USA as well as in the Far East including Hong Kong and Japan.
He accepts commissioned work.
